Don’t hire a listing agent just because they offer a low commission rate. Instead, look at the big picture.

When selecting the agent to help you sell your home, look at the big picture—not just that small little commission percentage your agent asks you for in return for selling your home.
There are a plethora of agents here in town, but not all agents do everything exactly the same for every client. Some agents market their listings thoroughly and use videos, photos, open houses, social media, etc., to provide the maximum amount of exposure they need to sell quickly and for top dollar.
Part of our job is to take the stress away from you by marketing your home correctly.
Other agents, on the other hand, use the three-pronged approach of “MLS, lockbox, and signed,” meaning they put a sign in the house’s yard, put a lockbox on the house, and list it in the MLS. If the three-pronged approach works for them, that’s great, but it doesn’t always work.
If your agent is offering you a discounted commission, make sure you know exactly what they’re doing to market your house. Part of our job is to take the stress away from you by marketing your home so that it’s sold as quickly as possible and for top dollar. If your agent’s not doing everything they can to do that, you’re probably in store for a stressful situation.
If you have any other questions about what you should expect from your listing agent or you’re thinking about selling your home, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’d be glad to help you.
